Overview

Signal Systems specializes in the design, provision, and maintenance of integrated communication packages for BC based businesses.  Signal’s services include:

• Managed services in Cisco VOIP Technologies (Voice Over Internet Protocol) for small and medium businesses;
• Communication services and IT support for BC’s film industry,
• Radio rentals (set walkies, trunking radios, and repeaters),
• Call-conferencing services,
• Wireless data access,
• Satellite phone rentals,
• Two-way Internet services (off the grid),
• HelpDesk Support for all Signal customers;
• A two-way radio outlet in Squamish. 

History

Signal Systems is a member of The McLean Group of Companies (the “Group”).  Signal’s sister companies include Blackcomb Aviation LP, Vancouver Film Studios, Pacific Backlot Services, and Harbour Landing Construction. 

Signal Systems initially emerged from the Group’s success with Vancouver Film Studios (VFS).  Recognizing early that the long term growth of VFS would necessitate the provision of world-class communication services (24/7/365) to some very demanding customers, the McLean Group invested in a communications network that included two-way radio technology and a VOIP communications system.  This investment contributed to the establishment of VFS as one of the finest production facilities in North America; a purpose built production facility that offered, among other things, an on-site 1,200 user VOIP network using Cisco products and software.

Today, VFS is recognized as one of Canada’s premier studio complexes and is justifiably proud to be listed as the country’s first carbon neutral production facility.  VFS offers 13 sound stages (10 of which are purpose built), mill space, office space and furniture rentals, on-site parking, production equipment rentals, security services, environmentally advanced waste disposal practices and it’s very own heli-pad.    The Signal offices and service outlets are located on the VFS lot which is situated just fifteen minutes from downtown Vancouver, thirty minutes from the Vancouver Airport, and 10 minutes from North Vancouver.

Retail Division

Signal operates a two-way radio store in Squamish, BC, and two radio service outlets (one in Squamish and one in Vancouver).  Both operations are staffed by accredited radio technicians, Cisco-certified retail personnel who are cross-trained on all brands of two way radio, wireless and wireline technology. 

Managed Services (Cisco VOIP Technologies)

Signal provides enterprise grade communications systems to small and medium businesses in Vancouver, Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton. Through strategic partnerships with the industry’s most reputable brands and the support of a Cisco certified (CCNA, CCVP) staff, Signal is able to provide its VOIP customers with a ‘Fortune 500 level’ data-communication system at an affordable, monthly cost.  

This leaves Signal’s customers more time to do what they do best – to manage their business instead of their IT department.      

Signal’s VOIP network currently supports approximately 1600+ people daily including:
